Just as I wuz about to attempt to type my first words
upon returning from vacation the bell sounded ending Round 1.
The door sprang open and I went out for the break.

(More about breaks and what transpires behind the scenes at a later time).

Now, back in my office, I decided to clear up the stack of
Windy City Pneumatic Tube Inter-Office Messages piled up on my desk.

I divided them into 3 piles -
The first being those that required me to reply or do something
during the time I wuz away and now too late to do.

(This is the pile I like the best and easiest to dispose of).

The second pile, places for me to visit and review,
which I did, and you'll find below.

And the third, containing only one item,
which wuz an example of one of life's accidental happenings,
a happening which depends on which way the wind blows
or you blow, and can change the course of things to come.
As you may recall, in my earlier description of
the Site Fights "Modern" Interoffice Memo System

[Please see 5/18/97 "SITE FIGHT SLEEPS BEGINS.." ]

Dman wuz looking for an interoffice message system,
one that would be the 'state-of-the-art'.
One day, while listening to an early Bob Dylan song, the words
"...the answer, my friend is Blowin' in the Wind"
ran through his head loud and clear - hence the
Windy City Pnuematic Tube Intercom System wuz installed here.
I guess in the shifting of offices, and rerouting of tubes,
this lone relic from another time, another city,
lodged somewhere in one of the long abandoned tube shafts,
must have been freed by the recent office moves
and wuz blown in, 89 years late, along with the other two piles.

(I wonder if I located a copy of the 1908 Sears & Roebuck Catalog,
if this page is there?...and whether the Phaeton Company ever survived?)

An interesting imponderable I guess...I blew hard and cleared my brain,
returning to write the following "blow by blow" description of the sites I visited.

"HeyYouSir's Homepage"
http://www.wavefront.com/~heyyousir

Any message I get that starts off with "HeyYouSir"
gets my attention and anyone polite enough to call me "Sir"
deserves a visit from me, which is exactly what I did.

On entering this site I had a most pleasant surprise.
I bumped into the "Man in the Iron Mask". Wow!!!
One of my favorite film people,
and Louis Hayward wuz always one of my favorite actors.
He mumbled a welcoming greeting...I think?
(through that Iron Headset it sounded unintelligible).

He directed me over to the left and a whole raft of button choices.
I opted to see what wuz "NEW" and saw that there wuz plenty.
I got to see this great caricature of "Sir" and his lady.
She looked great...I liked him better with the mask on.
There wuz lots of Info, Friends, Links, Games,
Awards and Rings to find out about
along with getting to go on a Search for the Holy Grail.

(Every morning GlendA and I always go on a Search through my Holey Socks.)

You won't have to search far for a good time when you visit HeyYouSir.
Put on a pair of Holey Socks and head on over.

"The Alexandra Zone"
http://members.aol.com/AlexPoet/alex.html

A great fan of "Alexandra's Ragtime Band",
I scooted over to "The Alexandra Zone"
and discovered she lives in a state of confusion,
Alabama, to be exact.

(During my fighting days I lived in a state of contusion).

She's a mother (2 children), poet, writer (short stories and song lyrics),
luvs to sing and listen to music and get this...a detective!

(She can tail me anytime. I also could use her help to write this column).
(I saw another "Singing Detective", not as good looking as this one,
though, on PBS not too long ago).

There's some pictures of her and the kids
and her daughter Alayna, born on St Patricks Day,
has a playpen page all her own.

There's no mystery to be solved when I say
that you'll spend a good time hot on the trail of this site.

"Dropper's Homepage"
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Lot/3161/

In my travels as a reviewer many surprises pop up
and when I discover a site named "Dopper's Homepage"
I know that there is a kinship, close to home here.

(I am constantly dropping things, such as my pants,
because of accidental SuspendA mishaps in the line of duty
which usaually cause me and everyone else a great deal of embarrassment).

After viewing Richard's very large collection of Happy Faces
I spent the rest of my tour with an ear to ear grin on my face.
His favorite band is "Smashing Pumpkins".

(As Halloween approaches I have seen a lot of "Smashing" Pumpkins
dressing up the doorsteps in our neighborhood).
As a hobby he plays percussion and drum cores,
so we beat the drums together for a bit.

I wuz Fraggled to a Frazzle by meeting his favorite Fraggle Rock groupies.
He introduced me to Gobo Fraggle, Wembley Fraggle, Mokey
and a bunch of Doozers and ,...oh yeh! Red Fraggle.

(I think I fought her once in a mixed doubles match or
dated her in a mixed doubles bar...OH, I'm so confused, I can't remember.)

There are plenty of good links, Awards,
and Info about The Mt. Whitney Drumming corp.

Make it a point to Drop in to "Dropper's Homepage"
and drop him a line in his Guestbook.
