Finding A Home......

Dman was frustrated. So many people wanted to stop in and compete in the Site Fights, but there was an ongoing problem. Although all the teams had great pages, they were on many different servers. Still being new to all that the Web had to offer, it was difficult to find a place where all the pages could be in one place. He set out in search to do jsut that. From page to page and from server to server. He compared prices, number of uploads, E-mail accounts. Everything went into consideration. If sjWeb's Site Fights was going to have a permanent home then EVERYTHING needed to be on one server.

During the same time another site with a similar theme (and a little less success) joined forces with Dman. This was the Rodeo of Links. The fever was catching and people were flooding into this new place. Dman found himself stressing over all this. Not only was this money coming out of his pocket, but what if it failed. Couldn't start to think like that. There are many places out there that will allow you to grow and will help you keep up.

There were now 5 teams and Dspirit, Dfairy and somebody voulenteers to do something new, a column about the fighters in the Site Fights. An article the would interview Site fighters and put their stories up.

Things really needed to change, and one day they did. Dman found a server which offered 150 Megs of space and e-mail accounts to go along with it. Perfect. The way things were going, 150 Megs was going to last a really long time. Dfamily wouldn't have to worry about space anymore. Everyone could move their page into the new server. Things were looking terrific. Except for one little thing. Dman was not well versed, nor had the time to figure out how to set up all these new accounts and to do the cgi thingys. There was Java but that was a whole nother story. More help was needed.

Dman called to those who were now part of what was being called Dfamily. "I need help!! Does anyone have the knowledge and time to do all these things for me??" An answer came in short order. "I've done some of that at work. I can help out. No problem." The answer came from the one we call Nick. Dman quickly explored the extent of Nicks knowledge and discovered his diamond in the rough. Nick had come through to help save what could have been a dead end for sjWeb's Site Fights. But wait. That name is far to long for a domain name. Let's shorten that. "From now on we shall live and our home and call it The Site Fights and we shall be at www.thesitefights.com. Spread the word. We've got a Home!!!"

Next issue, DUncle tells us about TSF's moving day.
