Who's Dman - Issue 25b: Closing Ceremonies

Everyone had dressed up in their best. I could not believe how full the auditorium was. Dfamily had grown to nearly 500 strong. All the fairies, deputies, Wee~Ones and the rest of Dfamily had shown up. It was days like that this that I wished Dsuspenda was still here to guide me through all of these formalities. He'd always been there in his monkey suit helping out. Now, I felt more alone than even. That was until.....

Odette flew in. She was wearing a darling, long black dress. It had small spagetti straps coming over her shoulders. In her hair she had some odd yellow cheese stuff. But the outfit was very becoming. Her little wings poked out the back of the dress from small slits. She was quite a vision as she fluttered around.

"Aren't you afraid of the D'agony Uncle guy stealing fairy Wings?" I asked.

"Nah" She said. "I was one of the ones who brought him into the spirit Newsletter."

I had to think about this. Was my partner going off the deep end? Did this guy hold some kinda spell over her? What the heck was going on? Odette seemed happier than ever. I guess this D'agony guy had some kind of spell on her or something. I would have to look into this later.

Dman rushed in. He was sweating. Nick was close behind. Both looke dquite peaked. They'd been very busy with so many new projects. I only hoped that this would go smoothly. This contest had been going on for quite some time. I didn't want to let Dman down. Then it hit me.

THUD

I Had finally recieved the final scores. I had them in my hands. I couldn't wait to tear it open and find out who'd finally won. this was gonna be BIG. I know that the entire time it'd be close. Never more than 2 points apart. I wasn't sure if Odette and I staied in the lead or if Dman and Nick snuck up and won. Everyone would know if just a few minutes.

We all wandered out onto the stage. Dspotlight followed us to the stage. I thought I was gonna go blind. To think, I'd forgotten my Dsunglasses © . Dreferee gave a short speech and introduced us all. I had trouble looking out into the crowd. D'auditorium was filled up to the roof. Fairies were flying above the crowd due to the fact that all the seats were full. I wondered if that was really the case or if this D'agony Uncle guy had scared them up off the floor.

The time finally came. I was called to Dpodium. I wasn't too nervous as I'd come to know this rowdy crowd. I could still feel butterflies in my stomach though. The anticipation was killing me. Who won. I began my speech.

"Thank you everyone for coming out today. As you know, it all started over 15 weeks ago. DMan, Nick, Odette and Myself began on the D'cathalon. We've competed in some of the more interesting contests. Things like D'spam slam, to D'space race. Now that it's all over, I finally have the scores here in my hand." I held the envelope over my head. The crowd erupted into thunderous applause. I couldn't believe that so many people had been watching. I guess teh DTV really help out.

I opened the envelope. The scores were right there. It wasn't thinkable. I looked out over the crowd. Everyone was mummering trying to guess the out come. Could it have been Duncle and Odette, Dman and Nick. Who won. I smiled.

"You're not gonna believe this one. IT'S A TIE!!!!."

I couldn't believe it myself. Odette and I had tied with Dman and Nick. The crowd was on their feet. The other three came up to join me at the podium. Dman patted me on the back and whispered in my ear.

"Good job, jsut wait til next time" We all waved to the crowd as D'band started up. D'balloons fell from the celing and everyone went wild. Nick had gotten out a small gizmo form his pocket. Some odd object began flying through the d'balloons and popping them. Nick was still a kid at heart. It was quite a sight to behold.
