Who's Dman - Issue 11a: Interview With DPatrol Joanie

(Editor's note... although the original Who's Dman had Joanie and Luke's interview on separate pages, I've broken it up for easier readabilty -- Duncan)

This week's interviews are with Dpatrol (Joanie) and Luke. I'm sure you'll find the Joanie does more than anyone ever thought. I know that I was surprised at all she does. Luke as many of you know left the Site Fights and you'll see why when you read all about Luke. So sit back, relax, and ENJOY!!

	DUncle	When did you become involved with the Site Fights?
	DPatrol	The first time was I think November of 96, I was in Steve's Ring, I won my first week there and was supposed to move up to the next level, but Steve's ring folded with no warnig. When it folded so did I. I decided to return in February of 97 and have been here since *smile*
	DUncle	When did the changing of the guard happen, and why?
	DPatrol	In early May of 97, DPatrol Diana needed a vacation so that she could move her family to a new house. She asked me be to be the Acting DPatrol. In late May she asked me to become DPatrol. That was one of the hardest decisions of my life. How could I, Joanie, step into the shoes of this wonderful person for whom I had the highest respect. Talk about scared to death!!!
	DUncle	What changes have you seen in the Site Fights?
	DPatrol	Oh Man, you would ask an old lady to remember *grin* I've seen so many changes. from 2 Teams to 16 or is it 17 teams now. I've seen from 1 DFairy to over 100 Fairies. I've seen so many wonderful sites and fighters come to the Fights and Stay on as part of D'Family. I've seen the Baby when it was only a 3 month old infant learn to walk and talk. I've seen it grow into a teenager and I'm about to see it reach it's legal age *smile* I hope to be around when they discover the cure for old age!!
	DUncle	How many Deputies are there/How many were there when Dpatrol changed hands?
	DPatrol	I don't remember for sure how many there were when I first took the reins, but I think there were about 8-10 maybe???? Presently we have 39 active and 2 on Leave of Abscence and more applying every day. Of the 41, we have 3 Assistant DPatrols for when I am on vacation, Assistant DPatrol Patrick, Assistant DPatrol Ben and Assistant DPatrol MrHugs1
	DUncle	What are the Duties of the Deputies and how have they changed?
	DPatrol	Deputies are sent anywhere from 2-20 sites each week to review. The review week starts on Monday and ends for the Deputies on Friday. Each site takes an average of 45 minutes to review. There are those that do come in though that take 2-3 days!! I kid you not!! Each Deputy must review each graphic to make sure there is no Bandwidth Stealing (linking the graphics from someone elses server), they must make sure there are no inappropriate graphics, words, links etc.. on each and every site and some they have to check the links of links to make sure that every site that is entered into The Site Fights is 100% Family Safe. DPatrol has not really changed except to become a little more stringent in Chat Sites and a few other places that are not quite so Family Safe anymore (-:
	DUncle	What Duties do you have as Dpatrol?
	DPatrol	Besides reviewing Sites each week along with the Deputies, I am also D'Mama of D'Family. I praise all of the Deputies for the Tough but Fantastic Job that they do!! I try to make being a DPatrol Deputy like being in a Family, since that is what we are. I try to bring cheer and love to everyone, not just the Deputies, but the rest of D'Family and the Fighters as well. I try to make everyone comfortable and help them when help is needed.
	DUncle	How did you become Dpatrol?
	DPatrol	DPatrol Diana asked me to take over and I did, with great and I do mean GREAT trepidation.(Did I spell that right *grin*) Me thinks I've been around DMan to long, I need a spell checker *smile*
	DUncle	What in the Site Fights is/was under Dpatrol?
	DPatrol	What was under DPatrol only Diana can tell you. I don't remember (-: (Old age again ??) What is under DPatrol now? Do you have enough space here ?? *grin*The Site Fights Guidelines (Thank you Patrick!!), The Training Center, Banner Service, Graphics, Backgrounds, Fonts, D'HTML Help Center (Thanks Falchion and Team!!), No Respect Contest (Thanks Carol!!), DPatrol Deputy WebRing (Thanks Graeme!!), PoW/MIA, Internet's Best, you name it we seem to do it!! If the Deputies suggest it, I usually will give it a try. So far every one of their ideas have been winners!!
	DUncle	What do you like best about The Site Fights?
	DPatrol	The Fun, the Friends I've made, The Friends I've kept even when they've moved on. My Lil Bro (Love ya Patrick), the sister I wish my real sister was (love you Carol). Meeting all my friends in real life, recognizing them without having ever seen a picture of them. Loving everyone for who they are and not what they are!!
	DUncle	In your mind, Who's Dman?
	DPatrol	How to describe my picture of Dman *will I still be DPatrol after this *GRIN* Dman is the man who strated all of this dream, who's kept it going. The man who keeps me going when I am upset over hate mail bombing. The cyber shoulder that I cried on for at least an hour the day my mother died. The man who gives me free rein with DPatrol and my ideas because he trusts me and my judgement. He is one of the 2 men that I am proud to call my Cyber Son. He is DMan that's who he is!!
